Aramis Ramirez: Slow Start Attributed to Bad Luck

RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Saturday, May 6, 2006
Update: Ramirez is batting just .195, but has 13 walks and only 10 strikeouts in 91 at-bats.

Recommendation: That means that of 81 balls Ramirez has put into play, only 18 have fallen in for hits. That's a hit rate of less than 23 percent. Consider that Ramirez's hit rate in 2004 was 36 percent and in 2005 was 35 percent, and you'll realize that he's been incredibly unlucky so far this season. At some point, ground balls will find holes, and line drives won't be right at opposing fielders. As long as Ramirez doesn't suffer another leg injury, expect a major correction sometime soon.

I guess this is good news for ARam owners... :-o

He's not hitting well and he's not hitting it hard. Not unlucky just poorly.

His g/f is at 0.91, exactly where it was last year.

Be patient A-Ram owners, the #'s will show up.

Is that is girlfriend on a scale of 1-10 or 0-1?

All these numbers can be used to make arguments in both directions depending on how you present them. Bottom line is, ARam is a proven star and will improve. The guy's in a slump. You're tired of waiting for him to come out of it? See what you can get for him, but he'll pick it up eventually.

How did I know some kind of girlfriend remark was on its way? lol.

For those who don't know g/f stands for groundballs divided by flyballs.

I benched him today. There's your reason.

May want to sit him tommorrow though, I'm plugging him in the lineup. B-)
