a little worried...it's hard to be a dominant closer when you walk people. some think that the NLCS last year is still in his head...i don't know, but maybe he's afraid to throw strikes?
Stop saying its because he gave up a homerun in the NLCS. They won the NLCS the next game, why would he care if he gives up some 9th inning hr. I agree he probably was feeling pretty bad after that game, but once they won its not gonna stick with you for a year or something. Plus he has command issues, do you think the command issues are because hes thinking of that homer every time he pitches, thats just dumb. Its probably an injury or mechanics, i wouldnt be surprised if they just throw him on the DL.
The Mets will win the World Series this year.
I'm hearing a lot of rumors about Lidge being injured. I grabbed Wheeler just in case though. Lidge has been really hittable lately and you know how quickly these guys can lose their job.

Yes, 3rd blown save of the season.
I don't think he's injured. His velocity is fine. His control is waaay off though. Plus he has terrible body language out there. Looks like he almost believes he's going to blow every game now.

i hate to hear that... but he has saved 11/14... and i think all (at least 2) of his blown saves have come on days where he has pitched the day before.... obviously he's having control issues and is struggeling even when he gets his saves... but he has too much going for him to fall too far in production
This could be the beginning of something big....or it could be nothing:
Rotoworld:
Astros manager Phil Garner wants to give Brad Lidge two days off after having him pitch the last four days.
Garner should have given his closer Friday off. Dan Wheeler and Chad Qualls are the candidates for save chances while Lidge gets a breather. May. 6 - 9:38 pm et
