Blue Jays pitcher A.J. Burnett, who has been sidelined by elbow soreness, isn't expected to start throwing a ball for at least one more week. It was originally thought that Burnett would be able to throw again beginning on Friday, but manager John Gibbons told MLB.com that he'd rather err on the side of caution.
Burnett is being handled with caution after a pair of flare-ups in the elbow this season. The good news is examinations have shown he has no structural damage inside the elbow. The bad news is, the Jays have very little to show for their $55-million investment so far this season.
