Will these guys get called up anytime this year?

Postby Melo255 » Sat May 06, 2006 9:52 am

What are the odds these guys get called up at some point this year?

Brandon Wood
Ian Stewart
Alex Gordon
Lastings Milledge
Carlos Quentin
Billy Butler
Joel Guzman

I know some are a longshot but what do you think the chances are we will get to see them playing in a major league ballpark this season?

Gordon and Butler both look like they could move up with how awful the Royals are playing.

Brandon Wood--real slim chance as he is struggling a bit in AA right now.
Ian Stewart--very doubtful
Alex Gordon--he probably will get a late season callup if he continues to impress in AA
Lastings Milledge--if he is traded, then I think he will be called up, but I don't think the Mets will bring him up this year unless their outfield gets real messy
Carlos Quentin--pretty good shot
Billy Butler-- bat is ready but I think they will let him work on his defense for another year.
Joel Guzman--probably a Drew injury away from being called up

No way the Mets trade Milledge. I think he could have been had last year, but with his performance in ST and AAA I think he's an untouchable...and the Mets farm system doesn't have many of those.
