No. It's not even close. The Royals are actually almost 20 runs worse than the Cubs in less than 30 games. The Cubs are averaging 4 runs a game, while the Royals are averaging less than 3.5
And, don't forget, the Royaks are doing worse depite the fact that they get to use a DH!!
The Royals are currently on track for 558 runs, which would be the lowest total for an AL team in 18 years (the 1988 O's scorede 550. But even that understates how bad the Royals are. The O's averaged 3.4 runs when the average team scored 4.3. The Royals are averaging 3.44 when the average team gets 4.73
As a DIE Hard Cubs fan, and a Peavy Owner I am willing to bet that they SCREW my fantasy outing out of Peavy tonight somehow. They are BRUTAL! It's painful to watch!

And should I adjust the Royals for the loss of Sweeney? And then readjust the Cubs when Lee returns?
Facts are facts. So far, the Royals are the worst, by a big margin.

um of course you adjust the stats if players like sweeney or d lee are out. completely changes the lineups.

Adjust anything you want. To date, the Royals are scoring more than half a run less than the Cubs, despite the fact that they get to use a DH and the Cubs don't. The Royals are behind the Cubs even with that advantage...so, the Cubs can't be the worst, unless you want to change the meaning of the word worst.
