Teahen sent to the minors

Teahen was sent down to Triple-A Omaha Friday, the Associated Press reports.

Teahen has struggled mightily at the plate this year, batting .195 in 23 games. He'll try to get things turned around in the minors.

Obviously this matters very little on the Teahen front...you'd have to be in one hellaciously deep league (or a bizzaro league ) to be desperate enough to roster him. What I'm wondering is if anyone's heard whether this means a possible look at the major league level for Alex Gordon or if they wouldn't want to start the arbitration clock on Gordon at this point.

Esteban German is starting at 3B. No power but should hit .300 with 30+ steals if he keeps starting.

The Royals sent third-baseman Mark Teahen to Triple-A but said the team has no plans to bring up Gordon, according to the team's official Web site.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: "As of right now, no," GM Allard Baird said. Things could certainly change. If Esteban German doesn't hold down the position while Teahen is in Triple-A, the Royals will likely try out Gordon. The team is desperate for wins right now, so if Gordon could help them out, the plan for him might change.
