Mike Lowell-Heating up?

Postby decoy562 » Fri May 05, 2006 11:08 am

I see he's had a couple of good hitting games, with 4 RBI's in the past two...has he improved his bat speed? Any chance he'll come close to his 04 numbers, or crap like last year? I have him in a league that counts doubles, so he's helping right now ;-D

I think the lack of power/speed will hurt his overall value in fantasy baseball. Plus he hits pretty low in the lineup with no one really particularly good behind him to drive him in.

He would be an adequate backup MI but that is all I can see from him.

I was high on him for a comeback year coming into the season - but mainly only if you could get him cheap and at 2B. I cut him a few weeks back which explains why he is hitting well.

Yes, I'm using him at 2B with Cantu out and I've been happy so far, don't pick him back up then ;-D

he says his bat speed isnt slow now, nor was it last year. the bat speed thing was something made up by reporters to explain his performance.

he is ok for a 2b, but would be a supbar 3b.

Agreed, he is a good replacement type of a player. I also have Cantu on the disable list but since I need speed, I pick up B Philips instead.

Batting in front of Papi makes me think he is more likely to provide a solid average, quite a bit of runs and maybe a couple extra HR. I'm liking him at second right now.

Oh, forgot to add - for the first half anyway ;-)
