Tampa Bay Closer???

Postby Havok1517 » Fri May 05, 2006 12:50 am

Rotoworld

Dan Miceli is headed for the disabled list with soreness in his pitching shoulder.
Great news for all of the AL-only leaguers afraid to drop him. Miceli was Tampa Bay's preferred closer at the start of the year and might yet be again, but he was doing a lot more harm than good right now. Shawn Camp, Tyler Walker and Chad Orvella will battle for save opps with Miceli out of the way. May. 5 - 12:17 am et

So who's the closer in Tampa with Miceli going down??? And don't say it dosn't matter because Baez saved a lot of game during his tenure in TB and I need saves. I would love to see McClung close with his stuff but TB seems to be okay letting Hendrickson, Weatcher, & McClung giving up more than a run an inning as starters. I think maybe Walker since Camp said he was going to be the closer but then all TB relievers have pitched bad, insight?

They are all pretty awful... I'd stay away from all of them unless you are willing to absorb 1 or 2 earned runs each time for one save. :-o

Camp makes the most sense but my gut says Walker. I can use all the saves I can get. If a gun was put to your head, who would you choose? :-o

I say Walker if you are really desperate.

Your roster would be better off without any of those guys on your team. That bullpen makes it impossible to justify owning Scott Kazmir in anything but a keeper league. :,-(

I might just take the bullet to the head instead of seeing my pitching ratios destroyed every night by these bums :-B

well, if I had to pick one I might go with Camp since he seems to the steadier one... but his saves are of the vulture variety so that's something to be wary of.

Hm, this TB closer situation is giving me headaches :-P

Tell me about it. I own Kazmir in a couple of leagues and his good outings are always on the brink of being ruined by his atrocious bullpen. :-o

Someone trade him to a contender so he reaches his true potential please ;-D

I currently have Shawn Camp on my roster, though I may just decide to drop him. It's just not worth it to deal with this BP..

Just FYI on Walker, he's barely gotten ANYBODY out since he came to Tampa Bay. He looks awful.

I'd look away from TB if you need saves help. Their entire bullpen is a disaster.
