Start him today against Oakland?

Is he even worth keeping around..he's been rocked in something like 4 of his last 5 outings.

Meche actually pitched well in his last start. Perfect through 3 innings, got in trouble in the seventh when he made a throwing error. Oakland isn't hitting and the game is at Safeco, so may as well send him out there and see how it goes.

I am pitching him tonight, he might give up a couple runs, but I doubt he will get rocked.

Well, I'm hoping that he gets rocked tonight. I told my buddy that Myers' was a better early season pickup about 10 days ago and he went on that Meche had 1 more win and .04 ERA better. Now Myers ERA is down further and Meche's is up. Meche has never pitched this many innings in his career and is throwing with a surgically repaired arm. I think his best days for this season are over.

I'm just glad I have my Mulder going against his Meche. I'm looking for 10-0 A's. ;-)

That was some good advice you gave him. I think Meche is slowing down, while Myers is just picking up the pace. I'm hoping for a good performance by Mulder too. His last outing didn't exactly help me... :-[

Mulder needs to get hit hard tonight. I doubt Seattle can muster much against him, but I'm hoping on them to win it close, with Mulder losing and Shiggy getting a save.

Who's Shiggy? Did I miss something or is this just a nickname for Shigetoshi Hasegawa?

Hehe, all this closer switching has made me paranoid too, but Shiggy is just Shigetoshi Hasegawa.

Correct on both counts, I think ;-)

I'm keeping Meche benched. I don't think he'll get rocked, but I don't like his chances for a win. It will probably be a close, fairly low scoring game. Oakland only got two hits last night but they were making a lot of contact. Tons of long fly balls, one possible homerun robbed by Ichiro.
