silent auction league-through email

anyone want to try an auction league through email? We did this last year and it worked very well, we do, however, have to begin fairly soon. we send out a list of 10 (depending on the number of teams) players each day, players will be selected randomly from the TSN top 300 list. everyone sends back their bids by a certain time the next day, the highest bidder gets that player at $1 more than the next highest bid. I will run everything. I will send my bids to the first person I get bids from (without looking at them), just so no one thinks I'm looking at all the bids and picking and choosing my players. we need 10 or 12 teams to do this. format will be mixed, 5x5, positions will be:

C,1b,2b,3b,SS,CI,MI,5 OFs, util,

9 pitchers, any RP or SP, 1600 IP limit for season.

3 bench spots


thats a total of 25 players

salary cap of $260

league will be run through yahoo at no cost.

this is a lot of fun, a little different style then most. We have to start soon however, it will take 30+ days to do this.

Do I understand the auction right? If I have the highest bid with $100 and the next highest bid is $20, I get the player for $21?

yes, thats correct, it worked pretty well that way last year
