Any update on him? Is he finished for the year?

Backe was examined by Dr. Lewis Yocum on April 19, and he reaffirmed team findings that Backe has a moderately strained UCL and will not require surgery. It is hoped that a nice long rest will enable Backe to return this year, but there is no real timetable for his return. Six weeks is the current estimate mentioned by the Astros.

Backe is a well known playoff pitcher, but his contributions during the regular season leave much to be desired. IMO, this injury is a definite sign that Backe should not be on your fantasy roster this season.
