Get rid of Nevin now?

Postby Guest » Wed Jul 23, 2003 11:34 pm

A lot of people are excited he's back. Think it's wise to trade him to someone who thinks he's going to do well or is it smarter to hold onto him in the hope that he'll end up hitting well?

That is a great question. Unless you really need help at 1B or 3B, I would at least send out some feelers to see what you can get for him.

Not so sure it's a question of help, but he's an excellent backup player if he ends up hitting well. If he reverts to his old form, he'd even be an excellent starter. Hard one to decide since you always want to be hopeful especially with his extra speedy recovery.

you're not gonna get nayting good back for him right now. you are much better off holding onto a commodity, such as nevin, who has good upside than trading him when he's nearly value-less.

Major disagreement with Eli. Nevin should be shopped heavily right now! Focus on a team that is stuck in the standings and needs to take a gamble, or one that has an issue at 3B. I doubt you'll get a Renteria for him (the guy that made that deal is a dimwit) but you could score a very solid everyday player.
