Jose Reyes: Walkin' machine?

With 3 walks last night, Reyes now has 12 walks in his first 24 games. In 161 games last season, Reyes only had 27 walks, but at this rate he'd have roughly 80 by the end of the season.

I'm noticing Reyes is looking at the first pitch a lot more and generally has longer AB's this year. Possibly a trend that will continue?

I hope so. I have definitely noticed him taking the first pitch. Almost too much. I guess it's a fine line between patience and indecision.

Well this game was different. He was cutting at the first pitch a LOT (every at-bat I saw), although he did work a nice 3-2 count that ended in a K.

Any other leadoff man and I'd say but the sheer improvement alone, and the thought of continued improvement = a big

21 walks now in 52 games, Reyes is consistently drawing walks at a full-season projection of about 65.

That said he's still only batting .250.

3 walks tonight gives him 26 in 60 games. He is one off from his entire total from last year, in 101 fewer games.
