Never gone out of my way to see anything of his, but I have caught a few shows. Very interesting illusions, and maybe I'll have to tune in on the 8th to see this one.
My mother was a big David Copperfield fan. Does he still do "magic"?
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

yeah, i saw him a few years ago where he "transported himself and members of the audience to Aruba" or something...pretty sure he just went in the basement behind a green-screen.
i know there's explanations for all the "magic" they do, but it's still pretty cool to watch sometimes

That’s the real point here. Nobody thinks Blaine or Copperfield are the second coming of the Tooth Fairy. What I like about Blaine’s stuff (his bizarre personality aside) is that I can’t readily figure most of it out. I’ve been around the block a few hundred times when it comes to television and special effects by now. Anything that I can’t figure out on the first or second go-around is welcome at this point.
I agree that is really crazy. If you watched it you could see his hands were so wrinkled that the skin was peeling off and deteriorating. He stayed under water continuously for the longest time ever.
I understand he's an illusionist, and I don't believe for a second that he's actually going to hold his breath for 9 minutes, but I always wonder something about the "stunts" he pulls: Why? Fame, publicity, blah, blah, blah. The things he choses are not interesting, so a) why does he pick them, and b) why do people care?
I liked him better when he was just doing his street magic.
EDIT: I'm guessing, from reading the posts, that he did the hold-his-breath thing and failed at 9 minutes.
7 min was crazy!
My friend and I tried to go as long as we could while he did this thing. I could only manage 1 min 3 sec, while she went 1 min and 20 sec.
