CLEVELAND FIRST BASEMAN BEN BROUSSARD LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE EIGHTH INNING WITH A RIGHT KNEE CONTUSION.

Anyone know anything about this, or how long it will take?

No update on this guy for todays game? I guess it'll be a good idea to start Weeks in my UTIL spot instead of Broussard?

fanball.com reports:

THE NEWS
Cleveland first baseman Ben Broussard was hit in the right knee by a pitch on Sunday in the fourth inning. Broussard stayed in the game until the eighth inning before he was replaced by Eduardo Perez. Broussard is listed as day-to-day.

Nothing about Broussard having an injury in the Cleveland papers and he is in the lineup tonight!

no offense to the guy, but he's in a platoon, and besides the huge game against schilling has done NOTHING, unless your in a deep league he is not worth owning

I agree ... and I don't own him in any league's and he does suck against lefties. But he is the starting 1B and I bet he gets 500 or so at bats this year and 20-25 HR's and 80 plus RBI's. Just my opinion.

If I were really hurting at 1b I would consider rostering both Broussard and Perez. Perez KILLS lefties and Broussard handles right handed pitching very well. Seems like that would be a good combination that could have been had off the FA list easily before that ridiculous day Broussard had :)
