wicked curve ball. fastball is in the low 90's but he has a solid change up to keep the hitters honest. he throws a two seam and four seam fastball. the four seam has some movement and looks fast when he shows hitters his changeup. the two seam has some sink and can be used to get ground outs. getting ground outs seems to be the key to success in the cards rotation.
i disagree with ZiG. i think wainwright has three well developed pitches, four if you want to count each variety of his fastball. thats nothing new though. opinions vary wildly on wainwright. some say he has #2-#3 potential. others just see him as a bottom of the rotation type starter or reliever. he never developed the velocity to his fastball that scouts projected when he was younger, but he seems to have good command of a solid aresenal and is not lacking in confidence.

If Izzy ever went down we could see the next Papelbon here....
I just added him in a keeper in hopes he closes in the future.

IIRC, this is the guy the Braves paid to rent JD Drew for that MVP season he had a few years back. It's good to see the Cards finally get something out of that deal. (Or did they get Marquis, too?)
