I think Gathright should be good to go for a while with ABs in TB, I mean think about it - Gomes is DH/RF, I think Huff may get moved back to 1B when he comes back (Travis Lee is batting .200..yeah, I'd put Huff there to keep Wigginton in the lineup if he keeps things up) Baldelli didn't report to AA a few days back because of groin soreness...even when Baldelli does come back, if Gathright can show he can get on base and be a positive contributor to the squad I could see them leaving him in CF and putting Baldelli in a corner OF spot to save the groin...(speaking of Baldelli, if his groin ever is 100% he may net you some SBs - presuming he can ever even be a productive player again given the amount of time he's missed)

**Edit, of course right now he isn't looking like someone I'd want on my fantasy team anyway, even with his 3SB this past week he hit .200 with a .459 OPS, definately worth keeping an eye on - but definately not worthy destroying other stats for the sake of an occasional SB**

I'd go with Lofton over Gathright if I was hurting for SBs.

Main reason = job security, and Kenny's got it.

He batted leadoff tonight, Furcal second, and had a great game with a SB on top (6 so far). I don't think 25-30 SBs from Kenny is out of the question and I don't see Gathright keeping a secure spot in that lineup in the future with Huff and Baldelli coming back, though the Marlins were supposedly expressing interest in him.

How come no one has mentioned the speed demon that is Nick Johnson... 2 SB his last 2G? Heck, I can't even get that kind of production out of Freel.
