LMAO .. :-]

Some say there is a fine line between Genius and Insanity.
Even funnier, is that Billy actually outbid the Giants for his services ...

Esteban Loaiza gave up five runs and walked six in one-plus innings against the Royals on Saturday, but it won't count since the game was postponed in the third inning.

Rotoworld: If you played him, count your blessings. Though Loaiza is saved from having a 10.24 ERA in five starts, the A's will remember this one. If not for Rich Harden's injury, he'd almost surely be pulled from the rotation right now. The A's might make the move anyway, though that would mean starting both Brad Halsey and Kirk Saarloos next week.

l would rather have Billy Beane pitch, then Loaiza... still amazes me why anyone would draft him in a fantasy league... or pay him millions to pitch for their team... l would make Ponson my ACE before letting Loaiza anywhere near my team.

man when the whitesox traided loaiza for contreras in 04 i was overjoyed. loaiza was on teh final year of that deal with the sox, and he had that 21-9 2.90 era season the year before... the yankees had what looked to be an albatross contract with contreras, so while it's generally known that if you trade for pitching from the yankees they tend to suck, in this case it was a salary dump...

i said at the time that contreras, if someone got to him and got him to use his forkball as an out pitch later in the counts and stop throwing it early and getting behind 2-0 or 3-1 (then he'd get hit hard when he had to do get-me-over fastballs) he could have his headjob unlocked and he could be a #1 or #2 on a contender.

so like, estaban loaiza gave the 2003 sox a nice story, the starting pitcher at the all-star game, some mexican pitching record... and then he got the sox jose contreras. all in all, i'd say estaban loaiza served the whitesox well.

that said, i wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole in any of my leagues =D

They might pull him from the rotation? 8-o

No, no, no! You guys spent a boatload of money on him!

You can't stick him in mop up duty!

He could get it figured out!

You have to let him try!

It's just a bad stretch!

He will get better!

In fact, I hear he's pretty good on 3 days of rest, so maybe you guys should trot him out there every 3rd day. :-B

My Rangers sure do appreciate all the A's have done for us this season. :-] Yeah, that means you too Loaiza. :-]
