currently last place, mostly due to bad starts by my pitchers. i just made a bunch of trades, basically resulting in me giving up hafner + lackey + willingham + ol perez 4 carpenter + glaus + posada + bedard + tracy. one big 4 for 5 trade basically.

i know i'm weak in SBs and SVs, but i kind of punted those since it's only 1/8 of all the cats. so no need to tell me the obvious and tell me i need closers. besides those 2 cats, see any weaknesses? can this team win it all? thanks.

I think you just need to sit tight and wait for the team to turn things around. Keep an eye on who falls through the waiver and on the FA. I might also try to make a deal for Shields and/or Duchscherer or another top notch middle man that will help add more Ks and lower numbers then some of the ones you currently have.

Another suggestion is to find a MR/RP guy who actually is SP/RP in your league that way if you don't have 2 starters on a given day you can still be using that slot to eat up innings and get more Ks. As long as there isn't an inning limit that should work perfectly for you. My league runs 2SP, 2RP, 2P. I filled up on 4 closers during the draft and had picked up Papelbon shortly before the season started (before anybody knew he was going to be closing). So I'm always running 5 closers each week, since I rarely have 2 starters on a given day. If so I just bench my weakest closer.

Your team is going to have problems unless you use the free agent list. Even in a 12 team league (look deep). Your offense has a good base but a couple of guys may not last the season so don't be afraid to drop players (crosby, mora). Also, you should probably just drop rodney considering Todd Jones is closing now.

I agree to move beyond mora. You should be able to do better at util.

I think you are taking a huge risk by punting saves and sb's. You also need a better SS. You should keep watching the WW and see if someone dumps a proven veteran and pounce on him.
