I'm not convinced that I believe this yet so don't act too quickly. Shea's head was hit in the collision, and I saw it myself. I don't see how his arm could be broken.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Yankees slugger Gary Sheffield and Toronto first baseman Shea Hillenbrand left Saturday's game after colliding at first base.
With the bases loaded in the fifth inning and New York leading 10-6, Sheffield hit a grounder to Aaron Hill in the hole between first and second. The second baseman's throw got to first just after Sheffield reached the bag.
Sheffield ran into Hillenbrand's head, and they both tumbled to the ground as two runs scored on the infield hit.
Hillenbrand got up first. Sheffield was helped off the field by Yankees manager Joe Torre and assistant trainer Steve Donohue, and Bubba Crosby pinch ran. New York said Sheffield had a bruised left wrist and right knee
