Question about Mark Buehrle

I heard someone saying Mark Buehrle's deadarm season is coming like Freddy Garcia's(4.39 era last season).

Is it true or just a bullshit worrying?

It seems like a possibility. In 01 he threw 221 innings and then threw 239 last year. That's a lot of innings for a guy who is not yet 24. When Garcia was his age, he threw out his arm after throwing 201 innings. Last year was the first year that Kerry Wood threw over 200 -- he got injured after 166.
What I'm trying to say is that he's thrown a lot of innings and should be watched carefully. The Sox (and any fantasy team he's on) will be in trouble if he goes down, which seems like a possibility.

Deadarm, shmeadarm, there is no accurate way to predict injuries.

I agree, you can speculate all you want, but there's no real way to know...I wouldn't pass on Buehrle just because he's a candidate for dead arm.

i have to say its not fair to compare buehrle to garcia .. buehrle is a much different pitcher .. he doesnt throw particularly hard..hes more about placement and control and that takes less stress on the arm .. i dont think buehrle will go through a dead arm period but i also think the sox will watch him carefully and make sure that doesnt affect him .. hes on my team and i have no worries at all ..
