He's hit .280 in each month except August. To be called "streaky" for one month is uncalled for. He's been in a slump but he's been pretty consistent for the most part.
He's streaky in the sense that from May through September, each month was virtually worse than before. From the end of June through the end of August, his batting average has dropped about 80 points. It even dropped from May to June. Since June ended, he's hit 7 homers. Since July ended, he's hit 3. He's finally turned it around in September, but he still has all of one homer in this month.
As for which 3B would I rather have, the answer is MCab & ARod and it is not even a close call. Nor do I think will it be a close call in the future either. I think that Wright is going to be good, even great, but not in MCab's class.
I would even take is a step further. I know that I have professed my love for Garrett Atkins over the past month or so. However, I may very well be inclined to take him over Wright for next year as well (feel free to flam away.....just be gentle

). Currently, Atkins appears to be that much better and I see no reason why he would take a step back in the immediate future. Players like MCab have showed improvement every year, whereas Wright, has basically stayed the same. Off course I expect him to be better in the future, but he has not showed the same improvement that the former has.
