Remember, this man abandoned you.
How would that get our blood pumping? I'm glad he's gone. I'd much rather have Crisp at the price he signed for compared to Damon. When I heard what the Yankees payed Damon I was glad the Sox didn't offer him that much. Most knowledgable Sox fans think the same.
The bolded wasn't my target audience I shoot for the majority (but that goes for fans of all teams, not the Sox). Read the pages of this thread... somebody's blood is boiling, and I look forward to a riveting Cheering, Venting thread tonight.

*applause* for Damon. I can't wait to hear the Baseball Tonight crew gush over this...
After this, though, a LOUD "Johnny sucks" chant and a overflow of $ bills tossed in centerfield when he came in...Gotta love the intensity of the rivalry!

It was a "Yankees Suck" chant actually. They did throw money at him in CF though.
Hmm, maybe they should have done the same for Manny Ramirez, Edgar Renteria, Kieth Foulke, and even Johnny Damon when they first became Sox.
Everybody sells out. Don't you guys know that by now?

It was definately a "Johnny Sucks" chant. I could clearly hear it and the announcers even said that's what was being chanted.

I also thought thought it was Johnny sucks...also what the commentators said
It was mostly boos until Johnny tipped his hat, then it became mixed

Commentators on my TV said it was Yankees and it sounded that way to me as well. Either way, wasn't a terrible reception for Johnny. Not that I care, anyway. As long as he hacks...
