Anyone looking at Robertson?

Postby lewis1112 » Sat Apr 29, 2006 1:49 am

Anyone looking at him to breakout this season or are his last two shutouts just a function of bad teams?

He had spurts of good games like this last season as well..

I wouldn't look into them so much until he proves he can truly be consistent.

Keep an eye on him, don't make any rash decisions.

He feel out of favor last year in the club house arguing with Irod and stuff like that. Not sure if Leyland has helped that. Robertson was very good a few years ago but regressed. I was kinda hoping he'd be moved during the off season to give him a new look but it seems he's pitching well. If the Tigers fall out of the race look for this to be a trade audition for Robertson. It would clear room for Zumaya in the rotation and I'd like to see Ledezma back up, he has great stuff as well.

I'm looking at him now that Harden is headed for the DL.
Still, he's not gonna face Seattle and Minnesota every time out. My expectations are tempered.

Robertson is in his third year as a member of the Tiger rotation, and is something of a forgotten man with all the focus on Verlander, Bonderman, etc.
Robertson has pitched close to 200 innings the past two seasons and has improved marginally each year in the majors. If you believe that the Tigers are capable of being competitive this year, Robertson will put up some positive numbers. He won 12 games in 2004.
