Alright I know that they said that Manuel would be going with the hot hand but I thought that with the way Gordon's been pitching that they would stick with him for now to pick up the saves. Are they going to be switching between the two consistently or did Marte just get the nod because it was a day game and Gordon pitched two innings last night? Anybody know more about this?

They probably will be switching between the two based on matchups. Manuel has always been idiotic in his use of his closer(s), so I wouldn't expect any rhyme or reason in what he does and you can't depend on saves from any of these guys. My guess is the reason he let Marte finish the game is because he was pitching so well and because Gordon pitched 2 innings last night.

Marte only got the save that day though because the Sox were up by three when Marte came in and then scored in the bottom in the inning so it was no longer a save situation in the 9th.
I just hope they stick with Gordon.

that shows who is more reliable, by the way, Marte has an ERA of sub 2.00

Damn, I was just about to try and trade Gordon and Cordero to someone for Isringhausen but some other guy in my league picked up Marte so I'm sure he'll be wise to know that Gordon is only a part time closer. Damn jerk.

Gordon was in for the save opportunity but put two on the base pads so Marte came in. Gordon got a hold.
