I totally agree here, AC. This woman is psycho, and I mean that literally. How is jail going to fix that?
I like women. If it was illegal for me to like women I'd still like women. Putting me in jail for liking women won't stop me from liking them, and whenever I finally get out of jail I'll still like women and try to get with one.
Pedophiles are attracted to children. Putting them in jail does nothing to stop that attraction. It just puts them in jail. Unless they get a life sentence, once they get out they'll still want a child.
We've seen this over and over, with tragic consequences. It's not a thing that can be fixed by jail, only therapy.
Would therapy cure your preference for women? I guess I just feel like she'd be getting off again with no jail time if given therapy.
Oh golly, do we really want to go there? I mean, what does prison fix? If we send a punk to jail for stealing cars are we under the impression that prison will somehow fix him? Is that our intent? Hopefully it will provide some motivation for him to amend his behavior and often times people do. Do we seriously want to start down the road of providing years of therapy for anyone who breaks the law?
Moreover, if this was a male teacher who raped your 13 year old daughter, would you still be advocating therapy, or would you be a bit more prone to suggest we lock him up for life or just shoot the sob?

You should probably know that the reason most pedophiles are pedophiles is that they were themselves the victims of severe abuse at early ages. Pedophiles tend to vicitmize the same age group they were when they were victimized.
I am in no way defending these people, and I find what they do reprehensible in the extreme, but I also know that they are typically suffering throughout their lives. Don't be so quick to cast judgement on them.

In this kids case she did him a favor, for the rest of his life he's going to be "that dude who pumped that hot-ass teacher" everytime he goes into a bar from here on out all he needs to do is pull out her picture and say "Yeah I hit that...WHEN I WAS 13" guy will never have to but his own drinks again.
And every other girl his age is going to be like "I wonder what she saw in him....OHHHH he must be tucking it into his sock, wonder if I can get a piece of that"

It would depend on why I was attracted to women. It just so happens that I'm attracted to women because that's how we're genetically programmed - propagation of the species and all that.

Assuming humans reproduced asexually, if natural wiring told me to be attracted to my hand but trauma rewired me to be attracted to women, I would think that therapy would stand a much better chance of curing me than prison. Like TheRock asked, what does prison fix?
That may be true, but that should make them even more aware of the hurt and pain abuse can cause. They know 1st hand how much it can you up and yet they still do it.
I don't care what the reason is, or the history behind it, if you molest kids, snip snip.
