Does anyone know if there is a program that sets draft orders?

yahoo has a feature called random draft order. if all else fails just put however many pieces of paper with numbers on them in a hat and draw them out one by one.

The hat-trick (pun intended ;-) ) is what we do for both of my drafts. For the live draft it works just fine, but for the online draft it's a little curious that my commish has ended up with the first pick the last two years. As far as I know there is no online system that can pick draft order for you. If your draft is not live, your fellow owners will just have to trust you.

Michael.

We usually just do the hat thing anyway, what we do is put everyones name in a hat, and then pick that is the order they pick from the hat, and then what we do is in order pick the #'s out of the hat.

The traditional hat should be perfectly fine, but just in case you want to avoid complaints in case you do wind up with an early pick (as commish), feel free to send us a list of your league's teams (a private message to me would work), and we'll draw them randomly.

The hat method is a good way to go. Yahoo lets you randomize and now they have an option that lets you have Yahoo randomize the order 30 minutes prior to draft time. This is nice for the sake of keeping the commish honest, but some don't like the fact they don't know where they will pick for the draft until the last second.

In my own league I randomize the order through Yahoo's randomize option, but I make sure as the commish I don't get the first, second, or third pick. This just keeps my conspiracy theorist managers from crying "shenanigans!" when I kick their butt. :-b Frankly I prefer to pick last in a draft for the sake of getting back to back draft picks.

I like the last pick too, or second to last. If you're trying to decide between two players, this makes it easier. Of course, I wouldn't complain about getting A-Rod either :)

Thanks for the offer Arlo!!! Um personally i like the middle picks, the wait is not so long between picks, which might mean better players. LOL!! but the 1st and Last pick has the advantages of two picks in a row, who knows, we are picking the order this weekend, i will let you guys know how it comes out.

If it is an online or email draft then use a random dice rolling site like irony.com. Highest roll goes first lowest last. We use it every year for football draft and we use a 1000 sided dice.
