I guess a whiffleball travels a bit further in Colorado, so maybe 125-150 ft. That way it takes a good shot for a home run, otherwise, any decent hit is a homer. That kind of ruins the game as far as I'm concerned.
DESIGNATED HITTER RULE:
If the teams are unbalanced (for instance, 4 vs. 3) the team with the extra player chooses a designated hitter. That player does not play the field, but bats. As a consequence, they must drink an entire beer per inning that their team is out in the field. They also must consume the beer during the time the other team is at bat.
I have been involved in a wiffleball tournament for 15 years running that takes place in my hometown. I have also played in and won tournaments consisting of over 80 teams run by the WWF (World Wiffleball Federation) in CT. Running the bases have NEVER been in the rules. I haven't run the bases in wiffleball since I was 10 years old!! Besides, how are you gonna run without spilling your beer?
1997 World Wiffleball Federation Champions (Connecticut Boys)
This is CT. Boys again. If you go to wiffleball.com, they explain the official rules of field size and play. Although, in my hometown tournament, we have customized sized fields (2). I believe our LF line is somewhere around 75 feet, center around 80-85 ft., and right is a porch at 70 feet. One of the fields is a Fenway replica. The monster is 15 feet tall, complete with net and scoreboard. Fenway no longer has a net but we weren't in a position to add seats at the top of the wall!!

My thoughts exactly.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
