who in baseball right now if retired today would be sure fire first ballot hall of famers?
I say
Randy Johnson
Barry Bonds
Tom Glavine
John Smoltz
Greg Maddux
Roger Clemens
Mariano Rivera
Alex Rodriguez
Ken Griffey Jr.
Who do you think is missing from my list

I'd add Frank Thomas.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

Smoltz and Glavine are by no means "sure fire first ballot" HOFers. Other than that, barring injury, the others are locks.

Pedro Martinez would probably only get in with a Kirby Puckett type exit. What he has done so far is hall-of-fame quality, but he would have to exit in some sort of a tragic way, where everyone would give him the beneifit of the doubt that he would have continued to put up those numbers.
