Are you a "Nails" fan? He is my favorite player of all time. I have every baseball card that was ever produced (that I can find) of him. Sux how he had to retire so young!
I saw your Avatar and was curious.

I loved Dykstra too. Easily one of my top ten favorite players of all-time. He was one of the main reasons I cheered for the Phils all through 1993. The stories of that team are hilarious! With Dykstra, Hollins, Kruk, Daulton, Eisenreich, Incaviglia, Wild Thing, Larry Andersen, Schilling, and Mulholland, they made for some great stories!
yeah, i'm a big nails fan.....met him a couple times, and named my dog lenny.....my wife drew the line at naming our kid Lenny (women, go figure)
rooted for him since '85, and he forced me to become a phillies fan (how dumb was that trade....freaking Juan Samuel!!!!)
'93 phils are my favorite team of all time......John "i'm a ballplayer not an athlete" Kruk and CO......don't get me started on mitch williams....we would have won game 7....and lenny would have been WS MVP....just like he should have been NL MVP in '93
anyway, always nice to hear the other lenny fans are out there
nice pic of him as a youth. id love to see one with the golf-ball sized chaw in his cheek and what the inside of that looks like now..... what happened to nails.....kruk is around with his sports show on fox sports net, but i never see anything about nails. did he disappear/die?
NAILS was the king of hustle (taking the title from Charlie Hustle - I betcha!) and the king of chaw. Just watching that crap bounce off the turf @ Vets was enough to start convulsions. He was a ballplayer's ballplayer!!
