Team Evaluation

Postby turdy » Tue Jul 22, 2003 2:28 am

I am in a 10 person head to head league (not keeper) with weekly games and points. My team:

Catcher: Jason Kendall
First: Richie Sexson
Second: Jose Vidro
SS: Derek Jeter
Third: Scott Rolen
OF: Lance Berkman
OF: Brian Giles
OF: Magglio Ordonez
Utility: Ray Durham
Bench: Bernie Williams

SP: Randy Johnson
SP: Curt Schilling
SP: Tim Hudson
SP: Roger Clemens
SP: Dontrelle Willis
RP: Keith Foulke
RP: Eddie Guardado
Bench: Josh Beckett
Bench: Jeriome Robertson

My Friend and I are having a debate about who's team (pitching and offense are better). Who do you think is better? We are competing for first place.

C: Paul lo Duca
1: Mike Sweeney
2: Frank Catalanotto
SS: Edgar Rentaria
3: Aramis Ramirez
OF: Barry Bonds
OF: Vernon Wells
OF: Juan Gonzalez
Bench: Kevin Millar
Bench: Raul Ibanez

SP: Roy Halladay
SP: Pedro Martinez
SP: David Wells
SP: Joel Pineiro
SP: Wade Miller
RP: Eric Gagne
RP: John Smoltz
Bench: Runelvys Hernandez
Bench: Jerome Williams
Bench: Gil Meche

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Your teams are pretty even, but you will probably finish better than him. Schilling and Johnson will be back and dominating while Sweeney might be out for the season.

I would try to trade willis while is rank is low. I doubt he can live up to the expectations of the media. Now that most teams have seen him and know his stuff, I would say his era is around 3.7 in the second half. It already rose after 2 ip and 6 runs last outing

There has got to be someone better than Durham out there to fill your utility spot.

Both teams are pretty even, one thing that your friend's team standout must be saves.
