It’s happening much quicker than last year. It usually takes me several months to get into “baseball mode” – usually around the second homestand of my local semi-pro team which begins its season in May. This year it’s happened much, much sooner, as evidenced by this…

I’m in the garage where I park my car just now and I see that the lights are burned out on three of the four floors in the stairwell. I check the number of the property owner, and to remember the last four digits (2661) the first thing that pops in my head is, “One more than Bonds, and Maris.”

You know you’re getting acclimated when you start referencing numbers by their relevant baseball counterparts.
