Nationals placed RHP John Patterson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 23, with a strained flexor muscle in his right forearm.
Instead of sending down Mike O'Connor, Patterson is placed on the Dl toopen up a spot for Zach Day. It seems like the Nationals have been underestimating Patterson's problem right from the start, so there's very good reason for concern now. O'Connor will likely get another start in his place on Wednesday. The Nationals also need a starter for Sunday, but they may go with a bullpen day. Apr. 28 - 5:53 pm et

I have so many injuries on my team now that this news doesn't even matter.

I think this is good news. I don't buy that this is because of the cold. I thought he did really well last year in September. I think it is some sort of injury from the get go, and I was saying all along that I hope they put him on the DL. Theres no reason for them to take chances this early in the season with their star pitcher. If they don't do this, all the more possiblility that he gets an injury that does keep him out for an extended period... I just hope its not too late.

Then again, I only have one other (AJ. Burnett) on the DL, so maybe thats why I have an optimistic view of this...

Good thing I went out and picked up Haren, Beckett and Peavy. Patterson was my ace, so I can take the hit. I agree he did awesome last September in the "cold"; he was complaining about his arm during ST, so let him get better before he tears a tendon and is out for longer.

An owner actually dropped him for Ervin Santana. I put in a claim to get him off waivers and I'm dropping Oliver Perez. A little over a week ago someone dropped Pettite and I had the #10 (out of 10 teams) and scooped him up. Now I have the #9.

It's great when they drop people that are barely hurt or just doing sub-par. I also got Gagne off Waivers.
The only problem is that no one wants to trade! I've sent over a dozen trade proposals, and only one person has actually responded with words.
