Any timetable set for Lowry?

Postby Zito is God » Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:49 pm

I've been searching and couldn't find it, any timetable for Lowry's return set yet? Any new news after the whole long toss thing? Thanks.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Courtesy SFGate.com:

Lowry getting ready: Giants starter Noah Lowry, who has been on the disabled list since April 7 with a right oblique strain, will likely make his first rehab start Friday, possibly in San Jose.

Lowry threw 70 pitches in a long bullpen session Saturday and will pitch in a simulated game today, which will likely entail another 60 to 70 pitches.

Lowry said he felt no discomfort and said he's ready to move forward.

"There was no tightness. I don't feel anything at all,'' Lowry said. "That's a big positive."

I swiped this from the injuries forum. olsonea posted it.

the only stuff that I found... ;-D

Lowry threw a 100-pitch, full-intensity bullpen session Saturday and next will test his strained oblique muscle in a simulated game, to be followed by a minor-league rehab assignment. There is no timetable for his return.

Left-hander Noah Lowry is scheduled to throw a simulated game today in which he is expected to make 60-70 pitches. If it goes well, Lowry could make a rehabilitation start Friday, possibly with Class A San Jose.

Lowry strained a right oblique muscle in his first start of the season.

``The key for him is to increase intensity,'' trainer Stan Conte said. ``We know this particular injury has to do with intensity of throwing.''

Conte said Lowry needs ``at least one, maybe two'' rehabilitation starts.

Lowry said he felt ``no tightness or soreness'' after a 70-pitch bullpen session Saturday.
