THE NEWS
The strained left hamstring of Angels middle infielder Maicer Izturis is more serious than initially thought and it's likely that he'll be out longer than 15 days. "It is a significant injury; it isn't anything you would call mild," manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com. "He is in a lot of pain. There is a significant defect that the trainers can feel."
Our View
Izturis is technically eligible to return to the lineup on May 8 when the Angels are in Toronto, but the expectation is that he will need more time. He absence likely only effects owners in deep AL-only leagues, and those owners should rush to the wire to pick up his replacement, elite second base prospect Howie Kendrick.
