The strained left hamstring of Angels middle infielder Maicer Izturis is more serious than initially thought and it's likely that he'll be out longer than 15 days. "It is a significant injury; it isn't anything you would call mild," manager Mike Scioscia told "He is in a lot of pain. There is a significant defect that the trainers can feel."

Our View
Izturis is technically eligible to return to the lineup on May 8 when the Angels are in Toronto, but the expectation is that he will need more time. He absence likely only effects owners in deep AL-only leagues, and those owners should rush to the wire to pick up his replacement, elite second base prospect Howie Kendrick.
