Strasil, are you sure you didn't mean when he DOES have to pitch from the stretch? I have never seen a pitcher who does not like to pitch from the stretch simply because a longer dfelivery is never encouraged so if he did not like it he would just pitch from the short stance.

Which one is normally used when a runner is on base. I read the article also and am tring to remember what it said

Wang has a slight pause when he throws with no runners on the base. For some reason his pitches don't get nearly as much movement when there are runners on base. I didn't read that New york article, but i have watched all of his starts this year and in the last o's game the announcers were talking about it and showing examples.

This is sort of perhaps related to that other thread, where I'd cited Baseball Forecaster's notation of his strand% and hit% both being reflective of a higher than expected degree of luck last year and that the #s so far kind of suggest that he's returning to where he'd be w/ his skill set.

The motion business is interesting though, if they could get somebody to fix it somehow perhaps he'd bounce back a bit?
