So Wang has got me very confused. His numbers do not add up. He has the most random stat lines I have ever seen. He tends to strike out very litte amounts of batters and give up an average of about 4 runs a game, then ge goes and Ks better then 1K/IP and gives up 1, then he gets lit for 7 and Ks 1 (or none maybe? don't remmember). Whats the story for this year and for the future?

I used to think that hitters might have just figuired him out after last year, but then he had a decent start and then a gem of a start. Where do you see him in the long run?

Inconsistency like that would be too hard for me to carry on my fantasy roster.

Wang is amazing when he doesnt have to pitch out of the stretch. When he pitches out of the stretch he is truely a different pitcher. His pitches don't have nearly as much movement as they do normally. This is usually the reason why he just cruises for 4 innings and then someone gets on in the 5th inning and he just blows up.

That sinker of his is NASTY.

His pitches are good enough to make him a top line starter, but as others said he's inconsistent. He just cruises along for a few innings and out of the blue loses the K zone. He's still young, given time i think he should be able to work through it.

If hes pitching out of the stretch that would mean there is someone on first. How did that person get to first? I think you may be looking into things a little to much. But thats just my opinion.

If hes pitching out of the stretch that would mean there is someone on first. How did that person get to first? I think you may be looking into things a little to much. But thats just my opinion.

I think he just read the NY Times article on Wang's last outing against the O's. (Note: double entendre in last sentence unintentional). It mentioned that Torre was signaling in to have Wang pitch from the stretch even with people on base as they felt that he was ineffective from a short stance.

Strasil, are you sure you didn't mean when he DOES have to pitch from the stretch? I have never seen a pitcher who does not like to pitch from the stretch simply because a longer dfelivery is never encouraged so if he did not like it he would just pitch from the short stance.

Which one is normally used when a runner is on base. I read the article also and am tring to remember what it said
