Does Swisher have staying power?

Postby sha » Sat Apr 22, 2006 12:34 am

Any thoughts on how this guy will fair this year? He has gotten off to a fast start. Just a case of being a flash in the pan or is this guy going to rip it up this season. I've noticed he bats 7th. Makes me wonder if the A's think he will keep it up.

He's 25, and since he entered the league has averaged 28 HRs and 95 RBIs per 162 games played. Personally I think that he is an emerging star who has a lot of potential and a lot of room for growth, and so do the As...The next Giambi, sans the juice?

The A's love the guy. Lots of energy. What's he going to do, bat above Chavez? He's had power numbers growing the past couple of years. Of course, the Colisium is huge and can take HR away especially at night, but day games and on the road, he's good. And he plays most games.

If the move from the 7 hole to the 2nd spot in the lineup is permanent, then I REALLY like him for this year.
