Input/Advice Wanted -- WHIR

This is what my team looks like so far. I'm waiting for Blanton and Kazmir to come off waivers to see if I've acquired them. Where should I look to improve this team? Should I stay put and wait?

D. Cabrera is currently a FA should I make the leap to get him, who should I drop?

Any input is appreciated...

I'd say drop a. everett. I looked up his stats and he's a 6 year player so I think his history should be a good indicator of what he's capable. He's got good numbers right now, but according to his stats, he's likely to level off and won't provide very good stats.

Any of those starters look good that are available. I just can't say which one is best between kazmir, cabrera and blanton. Cabrera is known for his inconsistency, but probably has the most upside. Kazmir has good k's, but i'm not sure how serious his injury he recently sustained is, and he pitches against the powerful al east teams a lot so that's a negative. Blanton hasn't looked good this season, but had a good year last year for era. But for the most part, I'll leave that up for others to put in their 2 cents on the starters.

Wang gives up a lot of hits, maybe drop him for Cabrera.

Just curious....... who did you pick first overall? Your team doesn't appear to have a real star on it like it should. Did you pick Lidge first? Where is all your hitting mate?

The draft was autopick and I preranked my players going out on a limb and preranked Thome first (this was about a week into the season, when he was on fire -- and still is) just so I could get 'em... so I kinda missed out on hitting but its turned out good so far but sooner or later I might need some more power.

How should I go about improving my hitting?

Mate, you ranked Thome as your first pick? That is pretty damn gustsy and I think everyone else will agree with me that is a bold move. I would look to trade Thome will he is hot and hope to get something in return for him. He is prone to injury and I reckon he'll be on the DL at some point this year. I bet if you try trading him for a top 20 player most people won't accept it. Be happy Glaus is hitting the ball hard along with his bro Rios over there in Toronto!

Yeah, it hasn't come back to bite me in the butt yet and I hope it doesn't. Not only have Rios and Glaus come through big the past weeks but also Gomes, Penny and Arroyo.

i'd get rid of bradley or drew. i had bradley on my team and he was stinking up the joint. i picked up penny and he's hot now so i would defiently keep him for a while and see if he can keep it up.

How is Ryan Church looking? Should I pick him up and drop Bradley? He is a FA in my league, I know that he's hit like 4 HRs in the last 6 games or something like that but I don't know if he can keep those numbers up like that playing at RFK half the time.

There are other guys like Lane, Green, Mench, Baldelli and Granderson on FA/WW...

i think your lineup is alright except that you should find a better 2B. Mueller is doin` alright right now but he won`t keep it up. try trading some of your benchers for a more consistent 2B like vidro.
