Hopefully so. If Billingsley could garner an improved bit of pitching efficiency, we have a solid enough rotation in October. Lowe has had a record of clutch pitching (2004 playoffs), Maddux has been here before, and Penny if he can finish off hitters efficiently, and we have at least a solid 3-man front. I think the key to the Dodgers' success will be the bullpen and if we can keep all bats clicking since we're not a team that can win games with 3-run walkoff HR's, but as a team that can beat teams with frequent line-drive hits.
Two things that would terrify me about relying on Maine in the playoffs: His home run is really high, and he's been very lucky thus far. His BABIP is like .250, which indicates that on average, he'll allow 20% more hits than he has thus far. Now, the sample size is minute, so perhaps the HR thing will correct itself. But for the entire time he's been in the majors or AAA, he's had a relatively high rate of HR allowed, so....
Anyhow, I think Duque is a better option for the playoffs. But he's so old.
