Huff Update

Postby Philliebuster » Fri Apr 21, 2006 10:16 am

Anyone know when he is eligible to come off the 15DL?

"[Aubrey Huff] is actually doing pretty good."

Maddon said Huff might be back sooner than the team expected.

"Again, I don't have a final date, but he's feeling better than anticipated," Maddon said. "And [Julio] Lugo is still hanging in there. That is just such a tough injury to deal with, so he's kind of like status quo."

Yep, here's some more.

Aubrey Huff has been progressing well from his left knee sprain, and he might be able to return sooner than the original estimate of 4-6 weeks, according to the Tampa Tribune. Huff has been on the DL since April 12th.

Good news indeed. ;-D ;-D

Good news. I just read it and went and picked him up. I had him the past two years and he's always done me well. I don't have him in the DL spot because it's being occupied by Lowry currently (Lugo is just killing me with being out) so I'm just stashing him on the bench because I have enough healthy OFs.

Huff

Postby bAsKeTcAsE86 » Sat Apr 22, 2006 6:21 pm

I'll be glad to get Huff back as well (I also have him on my fantasy team) but I am wondering if he's going to see fewer ABs with the emergence of Ty Wiggington (.293, 7 HRs, 17 RBI, 1.056 OPS) at 3rd base in his absence. What do you guys think?

My guess is that Huff will suck when he gets back. ;-)

Seriously though, he takes an entire half of a season to get going. You take him out for nearly two months...I wouldn't expect any decent numbers till September.

Apr 26 Bill Chastain, of TampaBay.DevilRays.MLB.com, reports Tampa Bay Devil Rays 2B Aubrey Huff (knee) is doing better but the team still has no date set for his return.

has there been another source saying 2b for huff?

I could use him at 3B when he gets back, especially if he takes time away from Wigginton. Right about the time he gained 3B eligibility on Yahoo, he went on the DL. !+)
