In 2004, he was hurt.
I'm not trading him away. He'll have some monster games, and some monster months. Left handed hitters get lots of HR's in that park. Just like with Bay and Crawford a few weeks ago, it only takes 1 hot week, to make the numbers "normal". I'm hoping he goes off soon. I just traded Bay away!!
Good luck to ya'll if you still have him. I still feel this will be one of his worst years. Im still sticking to the 25-28 HR, 90 rbi type season.. He still has a moonshot way to go to reach those #'s in less than 400 AB's.. I think you will see a mediocre 8-10 HR, 45 RBI split at the AS break. Good Luck!

I honestly do not know what everyone was thinking preseason ranking Teixeira as high as #3 on draft boards when clearly there were better hitters.
I think it's still too early to call him a complete bust. He's young and has the talent to turn it around. All he needs is to heat up for a month or two.
That being said, if he puts up no more than 25-28 HR this year, he will be a huge bargain for next year's draft.

The first round of this year's draft completely sucked if you were picking 6-7-8.
It was an absolute crap-shoot between Tex, Lee (I didn't think he could duplicate last year, and now he's out anyways), Tejada (coming off a bad year) and Santana (pitcher, yuck).

I am almost always happier in the 10-11-12 range. This year especially so. Although I liked the #1 or #2 spot this year where I got Pujols...even if he ends up out the entire 6 weeks his end of season numbers are going to be staggering.
I picked him up in my keeper league off of waivers when he came up. I think I've gotten plenty of value out of him the past couple of years. And he will be much better next year. For those that drafted him 3rd overall, I am truly sorry. Us keeper leaguers can take his performance a bit better.

I was going more for the 13 HR's, .300 avg. in July, not the injury that took him out for part of April.
Not to mention, he did hit 33 HR's from June until the end of the year.
