Apr 23 Updating previous reports, Oakland Athletics CL Huston Street (chest) may not end up pitching again for more than one week, after experiencing a setback Sunday, April 23, according to Janie McCauley of the Associated Press. He played catch Sunday, making 32 throws, but did not feel good enough to throw off a mound, which had been a possibility if he had been physically able.

Does this mean Duch will get the save opps?
Basically I'm complicated.
I have a hard time taking the easy way
I wouldn't call it schizophrenia
But Ill be at least two people today

If that's OK

And I can go on, and on, and on...

But who cares?

Yes, he's their primary setup guy and the guy they've turned to since Street started as the closer.

Although Rotowire actually thinks Calero will get the save opps since he got the one Friday and Duch was brought into the game Sunday when they were trailing.

In a h2h league I would grab both if you can afford the space (which is what I did). I would probably go Duch if you can't afford the space but Rotowire disagrees with me so make your call and take your chances. ;)

In a roto league I wouldn't bother unless you're bored or something. I don't see more than 2 or 3 saves for whomever it is and given that you'd have to use up 2 roster slots to be sure to get the saves it just doesn't seem worth it.

I think it is almost always worth it to pick these guys up because this could be a Gagne-esque injury or something. I mean before this week Street was only gonna need a couple days rest....now he is going on the DL?

No one has even mentioned DL to my knowledge (except for people wildly speculating).

The team has said he'll probably need to rest until the end of the week. The injury is not with his arm/shoulder/back. This isn't a Gagne situation and it's murky as it is as far as who the closer would be at this point. By all means if you have the time and two roster slots to burn then go for it. I just see this situation as not very exciting.

April 24: The Contra Costa Times reports that Huston Street played catch from about 150 feet on Sunday, but his strained chest muscle still was fatigued. Street said he would need to get in a throwing session off a mound before returning to game action. It's possible that session could come today.

That doesn't sound too bad.

Nobody's said it sounded bad other than in speculation here. Street's got a minor muscle problem with a chest muscle and the A's are wisely playing it safe. He may end up being out a good part of this week and he might not...but it's highly unlikely he'll be out any longer than part of this week.

he got the save friday for a couple reasons.

1. Kennedy was originally given the save op and gave up a leadoff triple to erstad(?) and was promptly removed for Calero.

2. Duch had just thrown 35 pitches the night before so he was not available.

As for Duch being brought in with the A's trailing. He was brought in the 9th behind only 1 run. It was a home game so at that point there was no longer a save situation. Also Duch hadn't pitched in a few days.

In my opinion duch should still get any future save ops.
