vlad owners rejoice, this is from espn insider today:
Guerrero (back) played the outfield for high-A Brevard County on Friday and is close to returning to the Expos, the Montreal Gazette reports.
SPIN: The article, citing assistant GM Tony Siegle, indicated that the Brevard County team physician said Guerrero was able to do even more things physically than he was at the start of training camp, when he presumably was healthy. Excellent news for the Expos and Guerrero owners -- with the team travelling to Florida to play the Marlins on Monday, that seems like a good initial target date for his return, although the Expos themselves haven't given any indication of that.
woohoo! PS if you can sway vlad's current owner to part with him, now is gonna be the time to do so as his return is imminent and no one is going to let him go once he starts playing again. I would say specifically that teams on the fringe of their league postseason should relentlessly target vlad, as he could be the wildcard that carries you over these next couple of weeks....
