According to the radio (no TV today, damn), Schmidt felt a tightness in the forearm, his pitching arm, and was taken out for a precautionary measure. Let's hope it's not serious.

With the pitch counts he's been running up, and the seemingly total lack of common sense Alou is using towards his workload, it wouldn't surprise me to see him break down.

He hasn't even pitched 200 innings since 1999, and he has a history of serious arm problems. He's on pace for 230+ innings now, so it's only a matter of time before he breaks down.

Good Point JDH.. It doesn't help that I just traded for him in my head to head two weeks ago. But in my main 5x5 money league, our 3 time defending champ just traded Pujols for him? so I have mixed emotions on this one.

I never wish an injury on anybody. But the owner in my league who Schmidt has been kicking my tail just because that guy is on his team. At least now maybe I won't get killed with all these CGSOs anymore.
