Whatever happened to these ESPN anchors?

Postby chadlincoln » Thu Apr 20, 2006 12:22 pm

Where did Kenny Mayne go? I'm not missing him whatsoever, but noticed he hasn't been on in forever.

What happened to Mike Hall, the ESPN Dream Job Season 1 winner?

What happened to David Holmes, the ESPN Dream Job Season 2 winner? (didn't even know they had a season 2)

I think Mike Hall does ESPNews. Not sure though. Kenny Mayne does these weird comedy things every once in a while that I see. I think he usually had a funny interview or comedy type piece on NFL Countdown during football season. Again, I'm not positive.

they may have become "sport center anchors" but Espn never really gave the Dream job winners the job. Probably some kind of internal conflict between departments.

You're thinking of 'The Mayne Event,' which was consistently funny every time I saw it. Kenny Mayne is easily the funniest person at ESPN. The bit they did about his appearance on Dancing With the Stars was comedy gold.

Not sure about Kenny Mayne... I've seen him sometimes doing some comedic interviews though like teddy ballgame said. I do think he's a riot though...

Not sure about Mike Hall... I only saw him a couple of times after he won and don't have ESPNews normally. Whenever ESPNews comes on over here, it's an asian reporter (I think Michael something).

Don't remember who David Holmes is.

I think all of Kenny Mayne's work has an incredible lack of humor. I could have written his jokes when I was 6 years old.

I thought this topic was going to be about Gayle Gardner and Tom Meese.

Mike Hall is the top anchor for the college sports station ESPNU. He does a lot of in studio hosting for the channel, and once in a great while, ESPN picks up the feed and you can see him.
