Marlins All-Star third baseman Mike Lowell missed Friday's game against the Cubs to have an MRI on his sore left groin. Lowell is second in the NL with 28 home runs, but the groin has been nagging him and has contributed to his recent 2-for-28 slump. "We'd rather have him out for a few days than for a long time," manager Jack McKeon told the Associated Press.

We'll pass along the results of the MRI when they become available. but expect Lowell to miss at least a few games. Rookie Miguel Cabrera will start at third base while Lowell is out.
Just thought I'd pass this along. Looks like Lowell might miss a couple of games.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Anything to get your Cubbie's an advantage, huh? Lol. That's ok with me, I still like my stinking Rangers.

Really bad news for Lowell owners, from rototimes:
A source close to Mike Lowell said the third baseman probably will land on the disabled list due to a groin injury that is more serious than first thought, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Surgery is not expected to be necessary, but the injury could go beyond just his groin and could be of "grave concern," a second source said.
the question has to be asked why he not only went to the all-star game but even played and held off on these tests until now....groin injuries (ask mike piazza) are nothing to mess around with and are the kind of thing that can linger and effect a guy for quite a while....it's too bad, this really seemed like his year to come forward on all of that potential he has been flirting with during his career.
