I don't think there's any way that they can lose it.

Then they'll trade it, they will find a way to get rid of it. The Giants hate having first round picks :-t

They can't trade it. :-D

It's against the rules.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

It should be interesting to see how the Royals farm system are able to destroy the career of Andrew Miller.

By Royals standards, yes he did. They got at least one good season out of him. :-)

The track record they have with drafting pitchers and watching them flame out is reaching unheard of heights.

baseball, yeah, it's not allowed to trade the pick. It's the only thing keeping the Yanks from being pickless until 2035.

I wish you could trade picks, it would make for so much more flexibility with trades, and would probably change the dynamic of so many good drafting/developing teams like the As and Braves.

How is the order determined for baseball? Least wins to most wins? Excuse my ignorance.

Yes, according to the standings from the previous season. Last year was the first year they picked in order without regard to league.
