By Royals standards, yes he did. They got at least one good season out of him. :-)

The track record they have with drafting pitchers and watching them flame out is reaching unheard of heights.

baseball, yeah, it's not allowed to trade the pick. It's the only thing keeping the Yanks from being pickless until 2035.

I wish you could trade picks, it would make for so much more flexibility with trades, and would probably change the dynamic of so many good drafting/developing teams like the As and Braves.

Yes, according to the standings from the previous season. Last year was the first year they picked in order without regard to league.
