Felix Hernandez = Dog Poo?

It's funny that there was so much hype surrounding Felix as being the top young pitcher but right now, Cain is there next to him. Felix is younger obviously but who would have guessed that Cain would be anywhere near Felix prior to the season? I know I didn't.

Plus Cain has been great since the AS Break as opposed to Felix who is still very inconsistent.

...these #s are all just slightly better than his career averages right now.

That's probably where I will project him around next year as well. I believe '08 will be the year when he really tears it up.

Felix has actually been pitching very well since his awful first 2 months. He had a couple of bad games lately against two great offenses in the Rangers and Yanks, but that's it.

Long-term, Felix has the much greater upside. While Cain projects to be a #1 type of pitcher, Felix's upside is to contend for being #1 in all of baseball, not just of his own staff.

As already mentioned, Felix has had two bumps in the road since the break. One was at Texas and the other one was against the Yankees. Nothing to hang his head in shame about.

Yep he seems to be turning the corner although not as quickly as Cain seems to be... But Felix is younger so we shall see what he looks like in 2-3 years.

Okay, I have to bump this thread because I'm seriously considering picking Felix in my draft on Sunday. I'm gonna need some cafe opinions to help sway my decision.

From what I've read, it sounds like he's done a better job working out in the offseason and has shed some of the excess weight.

I would expect him to definitely be better than last season.

He's worth a look in the 7th round or so. At his worst, he'll still win some games and rack up the K's. At best, think Johann Santana.

i know his upside is the Ks he gets. what is he worth in a league without ks? say cats are era,wins,whip,saves? i have him and regret it a bit now because i know his wins wont be more than 15,era wont be too great
