Royals closer situation (for those of us that care)

Postby ingov » Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:12 am

so I'm in a ML 12-team roto 5x5 ESPN League. I drafted Burgos and someone just dropped MacDougal. Does anyone know what's going on with his shoolder injury? I'm thinking of stashing him on my lone IR spot since I have no one injured right now. That would at least assure me of having the Royals closer for the rest of the year. I know this isn't the hottest topic, but it's for an important league for me. Thanks for any feedback.

if burgos is doing an ok job, why would they boot him? i don't think the organization could tell you what's going to happen until they see mac face big league hitters. he'll probably come up and do some low-pressure outings. if they go well, and burgos falters, then you'd have to think that mac would take the job.

in your case, if you have a spot to burn, mac's a fine seat-warmer.

yeah, yes...

I guess the question is- why wouldn't you put him on the IR? ESPN still lets you do that w/o even dropping anyone don't they? Seems like a no-brainer. I have Burgos in almost every league and a lot of people were talking about him winning the job full-time but I haven't seen enough out of him yet to see he's done that so it's 50/50 right now in my mind.
